BWL on Fresh Warcraft Logs

With Phase 3 & Blackwing Lair about to open on the new fresh anniversary servers, this article goes through some of the main questions surrounding the new phase on Warcraft Logs.

Blackwing Lair

Progress

All bosses must be killed for full progress.

Parsing Rules

The parsing rules for Fresh Blackwing Lair will be the same as the Vanilla Era version. The default view is Damage to Bosses. Phase 1 on Razorgore and Nefarian is excluded.

Speedrun Rules

These are the trash requirements:

• 1 Death Talon Captain
  • 9 Blackwing Taskmaster
• 7 Death Talon Hatcher
• 10 Blackwing Warlock
• 7 Death Talon Wyrmguard

The Complete Raid (speedrun) starts with the pull of the Grethok the Controller.

The run ends when Nefarian dies.

Spec Detection

We are keeping the Vanilla Era spec requirements for Fresh too. This might be revisited later as the current version of the combat log does have more information than what was provided when Classic first launched.

Poll Results

Over the past few weeks, we've been running more polls to gather insight into things like Battle Squawk, Battle Shout from the Diamond Flask quest, reattributing PI, and capping the use of flasks like Petri and Distilled Wisdom for speedrunning.

While these polls are still up, the results are currently quite conclusive. We will not have time to ban these before the raid is released, but this will be revisited shortly. Anything still goes on Progress entries, but personal parses might get invalidated with Battle Squawk/World Buff Battle Shout.
