How to Log Fresh
NOTE: HARDCORE LOGS SHOULD BE UPLOADED TO VANILLA IN THE UPLOADER
If this is your first time using Warcraft Logs, you should also check out our Getting Started guide to setup your account and uploader.
Step 1: Enable Advanced Combat Logging in-gameThis is a setting in your Network options. This needs to be enabled to generate accurate log files.
Make sure to enable this option before starting the combat log.
Step 2: Start the UploaderWe've added some options to the uploader to help properly detect the correct game version. When launching the Classic Era WoW Client, you'll now be prompted with a screen asking which game version you are playing.
You can also select the right game in the game selector dropdown.
If you've uploaded to the wrong game version, do not panic. You can either re-upload to the right game version, or you can email us at [email protected] and we can move it to the correct one for you.
Step 3: Start a Live LogIf you wish to upload as you are playing, make sure to go to the Live Log tab. Select the correct guild and region, then press Go. This will read the text file the game is writing to as updates happen, and upload in-between combat.
Step 4: Enable Combat Logging in-gameTo start logging in World of Warcraft, you need to enable combat logging in-game.
Using this command in-game, either manually or automatically with an addon, makes the game write to the combat log text file.
We recommend using an addon such as AutoCombatLogger if you wish to automatically enable combat logging in instances or raids.
Molten Core
Parsing Rules
The parsing rules for Fresh Molten Core will be the same as the Vanilla Era version. This means there are no current parsing rules.
Speedrun Rules
We are planning on keeping the Vanilla Era speedrun rules for the time being. This might be revisited later.
For Molten Core, that means these are the trash requirements:
- 30 Core Hounds
- 10 Ancient Core Hounds
- 5 Molten Giants
- 2 Molten Destroyers
- 13 Annihilators/Firelord
- 4 Firewalkers
- 4 Flameguards
- 6 Lava Elementals
- 1 Lava Reaver
- 10 Fire Imps
Also note:
- 4 Molten Giants must die before pulling Lucifron.
- Out of the first 6 observed enemy deaths, 2 of them must be Molten Giants.
- There is no roster limit.
Spec Detection
To start with we are keeping the Vanilla Era spec requirements for Fresh too. This might be revisited later as the current version of the combat log does have more information than what was provided when Classic first launched.
