Wipefest in Cataclysm Tier 12

Wipefest support for Firelands will be live with the raid release, helping guilds everywhere analyze the boss mechanics in their pulls and work out how they can improve their performance and continue progressing.

Let's dig into some examples of what mechanics Wipefest can automatically analyze for you in Firelands! Make sure to check every boss for your needs, as below are just some examples of the analysis Wipefest provides for your raid.

All Bosses

Some insights that Wipefest provides are available on all bosses. For example, this ready check insight gives an overview of consumables, enchants, and gear to help spot any missing gaps. Note that flasks are not included here because cauldron flasks unfortunately do not log so it would be inaccurate.

You can also get an overview of potions...

... and healthstones!

Sometimes, the simplest analysis is just checking who got hit by avoidable damage. Shannox's

causes rings of
to explode and deal heavy damage. Wipefest will help to point out if anyone's getting caught in this!

Steering Rhyolith is quite a unique mechanic and it's difficult to analyse in the logs without some know-how. Internally, Wipefest checks all the relevant events to work out when Rhyolith has been steered into an active or inactive Volcano or whether Liquid Obsidian has been allowed to reach him. Wipefest compiles a neat timeline of this for you and also works out how many armor stacks you're removing per minute on average, giving you a metric to compare to other kills.

Some damage from Engorged Broodlings'

is unavoidable, but you should aim to ensure that you don't splash the damage to nearby players. Wipefest checks to find when multiple players were hit by the same explosion and reports this to you.

Another Beth'tilac mechanic that Wipefest will point out is when the raid lets Cinderweb Spiderlings get too close to her, allowing her to

them and heal for a large amount.

Alysrazor involves a lot of add control. Tanks need to manage Voracious Hatchlings, keeping them near Plump Lava Worms and ready to eat them to minimize dangerous

uptime. Wipefest tracks this uptime to let you know how well you're doing.

Another set of adds that need to be controlled are the Blazing Talon Clawshapers during stage three. These adds will channel

into the boss, causing her to gain Molten Power and end the phase sooner. Wipefest tracks how much extra Molten Power Alysrazor is gaining. Interrupt and stun the adds to reduce this!

On heroic, Baleroc gains the

mechanic. The two targeted players must connect within 8 seconds or wipe the raid. Don't worry, Wipefest will let you know when this does or doesn't happen!

The heroic mechanic on Majordomo Staghelm involves maintaining

(which gives a massive damage buff) for as long as possible. Concentration is reset whenever you take damage, so you have to play carefully to minimize how often this happens. Wipefest tracks the overall uptime that each player maintains.

During stage three and four of Ragnaros, players will have to kite, knock back, and freeze Living Meteors. The timeline feature on Wipefest can be a handy way to filter down to just these relevant events and get an overall idea of what is happening when.

And of course, if anyone happens to collide with a meteor, Wipefest will be sure to let you know!

New Feature: Ignore Events After a Wipe Has Been Called

Wipefest has always supported letting you ignore events after 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 deaths to help you hone in on what happened before a wipe was called. However, now you can use a more accurate "Ignore events after wipe called" option that integrates with the Warcraft Logs Uploader "Call Wipe" hotkey. If the logging player uses this hotkey while playing, you can tell Wipefest to ignore all events that happened afterwards.

Regardless of whether the threshold is enabled, a "Wipe Called" title event will show in the timeline to indicate when the logging player called a wipe.

Wrapping Up

This is just a taste of some of the mechanical analysis that Wipefest has to offer, alongside other features such as player scores, event timelines, guides, and multi-pull analysis.
